️EARTHSHAKER️ ️One of the most badass characters from the game Dota 2, Earthshaker was one with the earth but now walks freely upon it. ️Unlike those other entities, he created himself through an act of will, and serves no other master. In restless slumbers, encased in a deep seam of stone, he became aware of the life drifting freely above him. He grew curious. ️He had shaped himself in the image of a mortal beast, and named himself Raigor Stonehoof. ️He bleeds now, and breathes, and therefore he can die. OH MAN OH MAN TALK ABOUT HUMBLE BEGINNINGS First things first, I’m am so insanely grateful for every person along my journey in my career and passion for tattooing🥲 I remember wanting to give up in the beginning. To be completely transparent tattooing isn’t something I got right off the bat. (Maybe some of it had to do with my first apprenticeship being when I used to live at the boarder of Mexico and there was most certainly a language barrier with my first mentor. But don’t get it twisted I’m still forever grateful for he who goes by Ricky Papi Coco🏼) I was relentless, dedicated and determined. Committing to myself in knowing that my art skills would soon bleed into this new craft medium. “Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.” Obsession will beat talent every single time. You have to want to be better, You have to want it as badly as you want to breathe, To compete with yourself every single day. (Don’t go competing with other people, the more you focus on you, the faster you’ll evolve into what your own version of success is) I remember back in those days, having screen savers on my phone and Apple watch with quotes like “I have a dream and a vision that I follow like a religion”. It’s suuuuuupeer corny I know BUT it’s seeing messages like this all around you that you can’t help but encompass those words and beliefs. I had the ginormous pleasure of getting to start this Leo ️ goddess tattoo on one of my favorite humans Katie my last trip to San Diego at @theedgeink ! 🧿Tattooing is an exchange of energy, between the artist and client. It is so so so insanely important to pick an artist that makes you feel safe, heard, comfortable, confident, and down right just has the vibes that make the magic happen when tattooing. 🧿You’re allowed to ask to move the stencil as many times as needed, You’re allowed to take breaks when needed, You’re allowed a food break while getting tattooed. You’re allowed to ‘tap out’. You are a HUMAN. Not just a canvas and a paycheck. 🧿Connecting to my clients while I tattoo them is something I cherish so much and will never take for granted. To transform, and enter this new era I had to put to rest and grieve from the person in the first photo.
